Cultural Landmarks

From the establishment of Henry Plant's railroad in Tampa (1884) and his equally important landmark the Tampa Bay Hotel (1891), tourists poured into the region and development began to boom.  Although few of their attractions still exist in the same form, traces of the sites can be found around town.  This exhibit features the curious and fascinating Sulphur Springs, the legendary spires of the Tampa Bay Hotel, and the iconic Sacred Heart Catholic Church, all of which represent that era.
