For many years the Halki Market on Athens Street, owned and operated by Costas Paskalakis, was an important source of foodstuffs for neighborhood tables. At the Halki Market, housewives could purchase their Easter lambs, as well as special cuts that were necessary for special dishes like patsa or kokoretsi.
