Title
musicians at Zorba's
Subject
Tarpon Springs, Greek community, culture and leisure
Description
Musicians George Aggelopoulos on bouzouki, Dimitris “Jimmy” Tzaras on baglamas, Niko on drums, and Pete Patides on guitar perform at Zorba's on Athens Street in the 1970s. Zorba’s was an important community entertainment institution from the 1960s until it was closed due to fire in 2015. Before it was christened Zorba’s by Nicholas and Kalli Patides in 1969, it was called Port Said by owner Nick Dris. Over the years and through many owners, it was part of the national circuit of Greek clubs played by many outstanding musicians.
