George Salton Biography

George Salton was born in 1928 in Przemysl, Poland where he lived with his family. In 1942, the Germans began deporting the town’s Jewish population to various camps.  Mr. Salton was taken to the first of ten camps; in 1945 he was liberated by American troops at Wöbbelin. Once he was liberated Mr. Salton enlisted in the United States Army. After the war, George married Ruth Wolfberg, also a Holocaust survivor.  Mrs. Salton then immigrated to the United States from Israel. The couple moved to Rome, New York where they raised their three children.  They retired to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. During his retirement George wrote the book entitled: The 23rd Psalm: A Holocaust Memoir.
