Alexandre Kimenyi

Professor, California State University, Sacramento

A native of Rwanda, Alexandre Kimenyi (1948-2010) came to the United States as a Fulbright Fellow in 1971. Most of his family was killed in the 1973 and 1994 genocides. In addition to his research on linguistics, ethnic studies, and genocide, Kimenyi was also an activist for Rwandan Tutsi refugees, founder of the Friends of Rwanda Association, and president of the Amahoro People's Congress.
