Nazar Melkonian

Armenian Survivor

Nazar Melkonian lost his parents shortly after the genocide started. He lived with a Turkish family for several years, hiding his Armenian identity, until some missionaries brought him to an orphanage. There he was able to make contact with his brother in America, who brought him to Michigan in 1924.
