Helping Genocide Survivors

Binyenzi Schadrac, Rwandan Survivor

I'd like to say that the few survivors of the genocides in many countries, but specifically in Rwanda, which I know better; I feel that the international community is not doing a good job in helping the survivors, specifically the orphans, the widows. I think that sending them, you know, money or giving them financial aid is not the only thing that they really need. They need a human heart, they need a human touch, they need to be held in the arms. Even the financial aid is not enough, is not there.

I have followed news in Rwanda. Many, many households are held by minor children, as young as eleven years old, ten years old. That is a big shame for the whole world community. Things should be better than that.
