Coping with the Rwandan Genocide

Françoise Rudahunga, Rwandan Survivor

Well, I think about it, I mean, every day, every day. But I try not to -- I try to live, you know, my life the best way I can so that it won't kind of -- I will stay strong enough.

Well, even though it happened, it didn't happen to only me. It happened to a lot of people like me. There are a lot of survivors like me who don't even have -- and do not have a family. My uncle adopted me. And some other people do not even have a family; they are just living in orphanage. Yeah. And they don't have any family. But me, I'm lucky enough, being adopted, and now I have parents again.
